![]() I also do not see this error at all when using v1.3.3.īut I'm also seeing some weird things being performed by Windows 7 when formatting a completely zeroed small drive, such as writing a Partition Boot Record in lieu of the Master Boot Record, though, in this case, it doesn't seem to bother Rufus much. The problem I get is an error during the clearing of the MBR the first time around formatting a drive that was formatted in FAT16 by Windows. I also managed to salvage a 32 MB memory card to run tests on my side, and I am seeing issues with 1.3.4 and FAT16, though the not the same as yours. This is very interesting, because I have just checked that using large FAT32 (Alt-L) will not do anything if your drive is too small to be formatted as FAT32, which is your case, and therefore I'm positive that your test with Alt-L would have produced the exact same results without Alt-L. It worked with "Alt-L" and formatting a larger CF with 1GB was also ok.ĮSET antivirus was runnig during the tests. ![]() Please close any other process that may be accessing the device.Ī device was eliminated because it didn't report itself as a removable diskĬreating file system: Task 1/5 completed.Ĭreating file system: Task 2/5 completed.Ĭreating file system: Task 3/5 completed.Ĭreating file system: Task 5/5 completed.įormat error: Undetermined error while formatting.
